THE ONES BEHIND THE SCENES

MEET OUR BOARD MEMBERS

BTA IS A VOLUNTEER BASED BOARD

MADE UP OF MEMBERS WHO DEDICATE THEIR TIME TO MAKING THE TRAILS AND COMMUNITY THE BEST IT CAN BE!

Being a part of the non-profit board at Bethlehem Trails Association means playing a vital role in guiding our organization and shaping its future. Board members volunteer their time and expertise to help us with strategic planning, fundraising, community outreach, and governance. Their dedication and commitment are invaluable, ensuring we stay focused on the mission and effectively serve our community. The time and effort our board members put in directly contribute to the success and growth of our trail network, making a lasting impact on our community.

TED TEEGARDEN

PRESIDENT

Ted has been playing and working in the outdoor industry for over 20 years. Now part-time as a rock and ice climbing guide, and full-time for the American Mountain Guides Association, he is passionate about getting people outside. Ted protects mountain biking as the one sport he does for fun, and believes that the local trails are world-class. Ted shares his love of the outdoors and ’80s costume parties with his wife and kid, and most days end with a slow backyard walk with their happy, old Icelandic Sheepdog, Valur, or with chasing their daughter on skis or on a mountain bike.

TOBY H

VICE PRESIDENT

Toby grew up in the mountains of upstate New York and later spent 18 years in North Carolina, where she first discovered mountain biking. After moving to Massachusetts, she met her husband, Glen, and began riding more often, quickly developing a love for the sport. Now living in the White Mountains, they spend most weekends exploring local trails, with a special fondness for BTA! Inspired by the board’s enthusiasm, commitment to stewardship, and community focus, Toby chose to volunteer with BTA. She values the trail system's welcoming of riders of all levels and appreciates inclusive programs, such as bike lending, that help new riders get started and experience the trails. Outside of riding, Toby has nearly 30 years of experience in Compliance and Business Management, specializing in governance, risk oversight, and operational leadership. She looks forward to drawing on her background to help support BTA into the future.

IAN DOWLING

BOARD MEMBER

Starting in my early 40s, I was a late bloomer to mountain biking. But once I tried it, mountain biking became a bit of an obsession for me. I've been fortunate to be involved with BTA since it's inaugural year in 2018. I'm incredibly proud of the network we've built here in Bethlehem, and I'm even more excited about what we will do in the future. I hope you enjoy the trails as much as I do.

MATTHEW TOMS

BOARD MEMBER

Matthew has worked in traditional / experiential / outdoor education throughout Maine, Utah, Chile, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and New Hampshire for over 30 years.  His true outdoor passions are whitewater kayaking, backcountry skiing, and mountain biking though he simply loves being outside regardless of the medium.   He is one of the founding members of BTA and is so excited about the work that BTA does for the mountain biking community and the local community in general. His favorite trail in the BTA system is Shoulder Roll because it is stupid fun and because it starts in his backyard!

AYLA QUEIROGA

TREASURER

Ayla spent her childhood visiting the White Mountains and knew that one day, she would be fortunate to call it home. She has lived in Bethlehem for over ten years and is passionate about helping the community and using her skills to build up the North Country, specifically Bethlehem. She loves being outdoors from cycling, to hiking, to kayaking and anything in between. Professionally she works in Accounting & Finance, and she's appreciative to be able to bring those skills to the board as they plan for BTA's future.  Her favorite BTA trail is Belly Roll.

CASEY WILKINS

BOARD MEMBER

PHILLIP RENTON

SECRETARY

Phillip Renton is an avid cyclist who enjoys all adventure on two wheels. After moving to the North Country he spent most his time mountain biking outside the local area. Once shoulder roll was first opened, Phillip saw the full potential and excitement of what BTA could become. Now after years of growth, Phillip has come onto the board as the newest member.
